A little more than a year ago, I was threatened with a lawsuit.
The letter came from a fancy Hollywood lawyer who claimed the title of my book infringed on the rights of her client’s book. Although my publisher’s lawyer said they didn’t have a real case, we changed the name of the book to keep the publication moving forward.
Exactly a year ago was the deadline to hand in the manuscript to the publisher, and I did. Then a few months after that, my publisher closed its doors. I was left without a publisher. But challenges were nothing new. 30 publishers had already rejected the book.
Even though many had said no, God had said yes, so we went for it.
We found a company to self-publish Made To Pray and we:
- Redesigned CSHeinz.com
- Published the book
- Launched the online prayer assessment
- Produced the 14-session DVD
And in December, we plan to launch the Leader’s Kit to help you lead a small group.
But that’s not all. There’s something else on our heart and we’re going for it.
If you’re in central Pennsylvania, you might be interested in what we’re calling the Central Prayer Network.
We perceive a need for pray-ers and intercessors to connect together. We’re just getting started with this idea, but the Central Prayer Network could be for:
- Connection: identify regional intercessors and pray-ers, communicate what people are praying about, promote testimonies and answered prayer
- Equipping: facilitate training on prayer and intercession, provide resources to strengthen prayer
- Prayer: pray together, mobilize prayer for Kingdom initiatives
We won’t know what the network is for until we begin seeking God together, but this is a start. It’s not supposed to be just my vision, but a collaboration.
But for now, we’re gathering names of people who are interested in learning more. If that’s you, go to www.CentralPrayer.org to be contacted when new information is available.
And remember, if God says yes, you have a majority, so go for it.
